I received my mother 's phone call tonight, 

she called me from overseas and said to me:"Happy Chinese Youth Day Ella." 

I said,"Thank you, mom."

She said:" I hope that I can return to the age of 16 again, and to do what I had not done when I was a 16 years girl."

I said:"Good idea mom, why not? Have you ever seen a movie called Freaky Friday?

This is a story about mother and daughter "change" their body. Anna Coleman is a 15-year old teenager, her father died three years ago, so she lives with her stodgy widowed mother, Tess, and 10-year old annoying younger brother, Harry. But the family is not happy. The conflicts revolve around: Tess' upcoming second marriage to Ryan, which Anna is not emotionally ready. Because of her father's death three years before; Anna's pop rock band, Pink Slip, which Tess hates because according to Anna, she thinks that they are all noise; also her sadistic English teacher, Mr. Elton Bates, who gives her an "F" on everything she does no matter how hard she tries.  Mother does not understand her daughter. The daughter does not know her mother too, so quarreling full of their lives.

One day the family eat out at Pei-Pei's Chinese restaurant, where Anna begs Tess to let her go on an important audition with her band. However, Tess refuses since the show is on the same Friday as the rehearsal dinner. They begin arguing again until Pei-Pei's mother interrupts to give them fortune cookies, which contain a body switching spell, causing an earthquake only they felt.  The next morning which is Friday morning, they wake up in each other's bodies, figuring that the fortune cookies are responsible for the switch, only love and understanding can break the spell. 

In the day of Tess became Anna, she began to understand Anna's feeling. In the day of Anna became Tess, Anna began to understand the mother's hardship and his brother's love for her. 

At the same day evening, the plan of Tess was the rehearsal dinner for her second wedding, but she decided to postpone the wedding so that Anna will not have to go through marrying him in Tess' body. But Anna said she accepted Ray because of how happy he makes Tess. Also, she is glad to take Ray for his mother. They both do not know this is the final act of selfless love needed to break the spell and another earthquake has them switch back to their selves. On the wedding day, Tess and Ryan marry, and she and Anna finally make up after such protracted conflict by saying "I love you" to each other.

"Oh that is a good story" My mother said

"Yap, maybe we can "change" too, then we both can try different life, can understand each other more and then you can achieve you dream "back to young" I said to mom.

"Good idea, But the adult world is very hard, are you ready?"
